Jim Adreon

CTO, Cloud Computing Operations  IBM

Jim is a successful innovator and leader of world-class technology service businesses with a diverse background spanning more than 30 years in information technology services.  In his career at IBM, he has led multiple IT technical teams in the development of leading-edge platforms used in support of IBM’s strategic outsourcing, services and software businesses.

As CTO of IBM’s Cloud Computing Operations, Jim is responsible for the design, development and management of IBM cloud data centers that give the company a unique competitive advantage. Earlier in his career at IBM, Jim served as CTO of the Web Delivery Platform for SaaS initiatives and CTO for the Common Service Delivery Platform for managed business process services. He also was chief architect for IBM’s Universal Management Infrastructure platform and managed its worldwide deployment, for which he received the highly-regarded IBM Chairman’s award. Previously, he was chief architect for IBM eBusiness Hosting, where he developed the strategy and led the business from start-up to more than $2 billion.

Prior to these positions, Jim held a number of management roles in support of large scale systems, networking and data center operations across IBM, Advantis Network, IBM Global Network, Sears Technology Services, Sears Communication Network, and Sears.
